I am back to blogging after an end of the semester hiatus due to the trip to San Antonio for the Conjunto festival, and then immediately after that my annual hiking trip on the Appalachian Trail.
For those of you following my progress on a map on your wall, we are now done with slightly more than 1/3 of the whole 2100 mile trail. We stand near Waynesboro, VA, although we are missing a 76 mile chunk between Salem, VA (home of the rodeo in 'Borat') and the James River Pedestrian bridge (longest footbridge on the AT). We'll get that section done next year.
I had to quit early because I had new boots which, it turned out, did not fit quite right. They chewed my heels to pieces, leaving silver dollar sized holes. Very painful.
I quote my wife: 'Your heels are disgusting". So, I will resist posting the pictures.
