It has been cool but pretty here recently. The bees like this weather since things are blooming and it hasn't been raining much and they can fly. A sunny day like today in the spring is a good swarm day.

And indeed, I caught a swarm today. I pressed my lovely wife into service as a photographer. She took this nice picture:



Kind of a bee popsicle. I just cut the branch down and lowered it into a new hive, easy.

That swarm was hanging from a tree branch about ten feet up. The beeyard there is protected from the wind becuase it is surrounded by trees, but it was a gusty day all around. Each time the wind blew the whole branch swung lazily in the breeze, it was something to see.
