In honor of Memorial Day, I suggest you link through to read about Sam Dreben, a penniless Russian Jew who made his way to American and became a solider, fighting in the Philippines in 1898 and in the Boxer Rebellion, later was involved in various ways during the Mexican Revolution and then fought against Pancho Villa with Black Jack Pershing. Dreben again served his country in World War I. Hell of a story!
