Bush Spares Libby From Prison Term - New York Times

These Republican crooks really have no shame.

My guess is Bush couldn't go for the whole pardon because it may well have triggered a legal response from the senescent Congress since it is so clearly a coverup of larger crimes.

It is pretty clear that Bush and Republicans more broadly do not believe in the rule of law in the least.

Fred Thompson: shitbag.

Former Senator Fred D. Thompson, now an undeclared candidate for president, held a fund-raiser for Mr. Libby.

All of the other Republican candidates have revealed themselves to be unqualified for office.

"Two Republican candidates for president, Mitt Romney and Rudolph W. Giuliani, expressed support for Mr. Bush’s decision. Campaigning in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Mr. Romney said, “I believe that the circumstances of this case, where the prosecutor knew that there had not been a crime committed, created a setting where a decision of this nature was reasonable.”

There had NOT been a crime?

It is of course a Bush family tradition to cover up and pardon the crimes of their underlings. May this be a lesson to us all.

(and no, I haven't forgotten that Clinton pardoned Marc Rich and other scumbags. Let's agree that the crimes of one do not forgive the worse crimes of the other?)
