Speaking of old time music, check out these Japanese sites devoted to it. As you would expect, in Japan they get old time music.

I have been in contact with an old time fiddle in Japan that I once sold a cool old time fiddle to on ebay, as I trying to find some old time musicians in Korea. (It never hurts to try, but Korea is not Japan when it comes to grasping parts of American culture).

So, this guy clued me into a bunch of sites, such as
Fellows Old Time Music-Lover, which has several parts worth exploring, Uncle Gryphon's Old Time Music Cabin, put up by a banjo player I played with at Clifftop some years ago, and the House of Fiddler.

There is also a Carter Family festival in Japan that I am going to try to attend in November.
