The French are oh-so-sophisticated

A Taste of Whimsy Wows the French - washingtonpost.com: "'Ratatouille,' the animated Hollywood movie starring a rat who overcomes all odds to become a chef in a venerable Paris restaurant, is defying stiff odds itself. Its Aug. 1 premiere in France drew the fourth-highest opening day attendance in French movie history.

Actually, back when this film came out I meant to put something on my blog about how astonished I was that they named the movie "Ratatouille," a name that required, in the ads, a phonetic spelling of the title as a subtitle. (so clowns could ask for the correct ticket I guess). I wasn't astonished that this movie was made, because this is the kind of shit one expects. But sheesh, in France where they can pronounce the name, these people like it.

No, just because I am father does not mean I will now have to watch pixar movies.
