Undismayed is very pleased Mark Warner is running for Senate. Thrilled, actually. He was a good to very good governor and he'll be a good Senator. If he wins, Virginia will have almost the only two senators worth a damn in the Senate. Remarkable. a few months ago I had been wishing Warner had decided to run for president so there would actually have been someone of competence, experience, and promise running. But it is a sign of Warner's integrity that he isn't running for president. It just doesn't have that ego or megalomania that is at the core of all the others running. Nope. Mark Warner is just a smart, accomplished, decent, and effective leader. He is about the only person who could step into John Warner's shoes, too.
