I wrote on my other blog about the interviews I was involved with on Saturday.
That was all accurate, I was very impressed with the candidates. What I didn't mention was how insane the Korean interviewers were, or at least their questions.
They asked things like "What do you think of Professor Lee [from your university].
The student would mumble something like "he is a very honorable man"
Interviewer: he likes to drink, doesn't he?
Many of the questions were of a pointed political nature: what do you think of this current political decision. Why? How can you think that? etc.
In several cases, the interviewes said, 'I see from your application that you are married. Is your spouse planning to come to the US with you?" which is the kind of question that starts lawsuits in the US.
