If you are in and will be in Kentucky, there are a couple of interesting things happening you should consider.

There is t
his new exhibit of old Kentucky coal camp photographs from the University of Kentucky and the Tuska Center for Contemporary Art, which will run into October, with an opening reception this friday with a good old time band, the Red State Ramblers. The guitarist in that band is a historian of US foreign relations, by the way, and the fiddler is quite kick ass.

The other thing is the Festival Latino de Lexington coming up this weekend. There is a huge population of Mexicans in the bluegrass, working on the horse farms. That is sure to be a good time and some good music and food.
