tricky dicks

Some insight from a student paper, this one on the 1972 presidential campaign:

Somehow, she stumbled online on a sign that advertised Nixon's re-election with the phrase "You can't lick our Dick," which she took as a literal phrase from the Nixon campaign.

As the student wrote

"'You Can't Lick Our Dick" phrase shows that Nixon was confident of his winning as the result improved it." (sic)

The paper also featured this section :

"I found an interesting fact. Dick Nixon is the nickname for Richard Nixon. Dick also means an investigator in common speech. He might be the president who was the most investigated among the Presidents of U.S.A."

It is precisely this sort of syllogism that shows that the students is learning!
