200 roosters seized in cockfight probe | IndyStar.com: "LIGONIER, Ind. -- Authorities confiscated nearly 200 roosters after searching an alleged cockfighting venue in northern Indiana.

Police who searched the site also found cockfighting paraphernalia and two arena-style areas, Fort Wayne television station WANE reported. Some 197 roosters were confiscated.

Police arrested Eleazar Sandoval, 34, who they said leased the barns on the property about 35 miles northwest of Fort Wayne. Sandoval, who was out on bond following his weekend arrest, appeared in court Wednesday to face animal cruelty and other charges.

There was no number for Sandoval in published listings and he could not be reached for comment Thursday.
The roosters remained on the property Thursday while the Noble County Humane Society decided what to do with them."
