Undismayed is off to the land of the rising sun for a couple of weeks. Likely blogging will continue as these things often do, but truncated for sure.


While we are over there we are trying to cover all bases of course, including the uniquely Japanese obsession with particularly great aspects of American culture. I know we are meeting up with some Japanese old time musicians in Kyoto to play some tunes and also going to go see their band play in Osaka.

I didn't want to use up all of my good will with my long suffering wife and really push to meet up with the Japanese conjunto musicians ("Conjunto J") I met last year at a festival in Texas (but here is their webpage and here is another, I think of their #1 fan. Looks like we'll miss the Osaka concert by about a week anyway... The accordionist is named Noriyoshi Imamura, but goes by "Honorio", and he is actually quite good. Sings in spanish.
