Unsullied and Undismayed

A big reason I am feeling good these days is that my current situation is not unlike a vacation, even though I am actually working. (and my two and a half month vacation that just ended was very much like a vacation. An almost entirely stress free existence (Unlike last year where I was stressed enough to have temporarily lost sight in my eye, which I don't recommend for a variety of reasons).

The relaxing side of things is in part because I don't walk through my old house everyday constantly being reminded of the deferred maintenance in all directions. Leaky roofs have a way of focusing the mind. It all comes with an old house, of course, but that doesn't mean that the need to constantly work on it is always as welcome as sitting down and cracking a beer.

So my mind has been merrily liberated for some time... only to be brought back to reality with an email from my renter notifying that a wind storm ripped off the gutter, siding, and roof vents.
