It turns out that Ramiro Cavazos, great bajo sexto player of legendary band Los Donneños is still around and playing. He has a band called "Los Donneños," of all things.

He also has a record store in McAllen, Texas.

Looks like I know where my next roadtrip is going to be upon return to the states.

I have decided it is critical to go visit all the old timers before they disappear, to pay my respects and also to say howdy. The passing of Tomas Ortiz and Bill Bolick this year made me realize that time is a'wasting and once this generation of greats is gone that will be it.
