There is little in the NY Times that doesn't tend to annoy, but their truly witless use of hyperlinks on random words and names mixed throughout their stories is so distracting as to make the stories actually impossible to read in some instances. The Post seems to have caught the same disease.

The Times has, of course, previously demonstrated its cluelessness when it ran Times Select, and in many other ways too tiring to detail at this point. The misuse of hyperlinks to random collections of their articles on some subject but not to other topics is a sure sign must have seemed like a good idea at the same meeting that gave Frank Rich free range to write the same column every Sunday until the cloned animals kill all life on planet earth.
